Vintage Design
Rare set of Alessandro Becchi ‘Toscanella’ chairs for Giovannetti Italy 1970. Fully original set coming from an old stock; the set was only used in the showroom and is therefore in a exceptionally good condition. The chairs have extraordinary thick straw which was an option / upgrade back in the time, this makes the set even more unique; impossible to find this material nowadays. The chairs have a unique sturdy design which shows an interesting dialogue between the rustic feeling of the traditional Ash wood and straw and their progressive modern design. The unusual bulky tapered legs immediately catches the eye and together with the friendly ‘sunset’ half round shaped back rests results in a very playful design. Very comfortable and strong chairs. In excellent fully original condition.
