1970s Floral Still Life Painting, Roses in Silver Vase

The medium of this rose picture was puzzling to us…after doing some intense research, we finally figured out that it was created using Tri-Chem liquid embroidery paints. Apparently, this at-home hobbycraft was all the rage in the 1960-70s. House parties were hosted for all the ladies of the neighborhood (think Tupperware). The instructor gave a demonstration, and guests would create their own work of art and look through the company catalog of products to order paint sets and patterns. The patterns/pictures were printed, and the paint came in tubes which had a ball point tip.

This painting was very well done, and the colors are beautiful, bold and vibrant! The group of roses are red, yellow and orange with bright green foliage, the large vase is a metallic silver with gold highlights. What really stands out with this picture is the black outlining and shading. Reminiscent of the 1940s old school, Sailor Jerry style tattoos.
Painting is framed in a silver wooden frame with attached hanging wire and glass front.
