A set of four exceptionally rare antique circa 1880 Black Forest carved wood side chairs.

Germany, late 19th century, two similarly styled matched pairs, richly hand carved, sculpted and incised throughout, rustic design with antler, leaves, and naturalistic log motif, elaborate backrest and ornate pierced crest, round caned seats, X-stretcher joined outswept legs.
