Jo Hammerborg designed the Central in 1967 and it was produced in four colour variations; the inner coating of the dark gray band could be white, blue, red or green, reflecting their respectively colour onto the cylinder shade.
Hammerborg was hired as a chief designer at the lamp manufacturer Fog & Mørup in 1957, where he worked until 1980. This piece has an attribution mark,
