1960s Mid-Century Americana Still Life Original Oil Painting, “Tulips” by Letha Buckenan

Offering a gorgeous Still Life Original Oil Painting by artist Letha Buckenan in Brooklyn, IA. The gilt wood stretched canvas piece depicts an arrangement of red, orange and yellow tulips in a pedestal Neoclassical vase. Brooklyn is 50 miles from Pella, IA. There is a large Dutch population in this part of the country and every spring Pella hosts the Tulip Festival. As a young girl, I marched in the Tulip Festival parade with my junior high band. What I remember most is there were tulips everywhere. It’s easy to see where Buckenan got her inspiration for her oil painting.
