Vintage Design
This Liberty Seating Group made its debut two years prior, showcased in various magazines as part of a “dining room ensemble” at the “Winther Exhibition” of the Imperial and Royal Austrian Museum of Art and Industry in Vienna. Erroneously attributed to artist Koloman Moser for years, it shared the limelight with his splendid decorative stained glass windows in exhibition photographs.
Crafted in the quintessential secessionist style, its curved beech wood structure is reminiscent of Jacob & Josef Kohn’s signature aesthetic, as well as the historic Thonet brand. What sets this Art Nouveau seating group apart are the brass quadrangular-sectioned ends adorning its legs.
In great condition with original patina and brass legs.
