Vintage Design
This daybed is from the Euroika series designed by Friso Kramer in 1963. The Euroika series offered a bed, bed cabinets, tables, chairs, mirrors and a toilet cabinet!
This bed has a black painted steel frame with spring seat, teak plywood board ends and a good and firm mattress with a round head cushion. It even has a rare night stand!
The mattress and the bolster is renewed with new foam and it has just been upholstered with lovely wool fabric.
The designs of Friso Kramer are highly sought after.
Even though his items were designed several years ago, they still fit in the daily interiors.
Friso Kramer was a functionalist, all of his pieces are well thought about and amazingly executed.
Even though most of his designs were produced in large numbers the process before that was really intense and time taking.
There is are little missing chips of the veneer on the foot end as to be seen on the picture. This daybed is in good condition consistent with age and use.
