Vintage Design
Art Deco Dutch dining set manufactured by L.O.V. (Labor Omnia Vincit – Labor Overcomes Everything) in the mid-1920s.
It was innovator Gerrit Pelt who founded L.O.V. in 1910. He wanted to manufacture furniture that was solid, stylish and affordable. At the same time he wanted to restore the craft of furniture making, just like William Morris in the UK, who started the “Arts and Crafts Movement”.
Many other important designers worked for L.O.V. Like J.A. Muntendam, A.H. Jansen, C. Alons and of course Gerrit Pelt himself. This set is designed by A.H. Jansen. It’s signed with the company logo.
