Rare monumental Hunt style Renaissance Revival cabinet by Alexander Roux 1870 museum quality piece. Carved out of solid oak with numerous rich details and stunning craftsmanship by a master carver. The bottom of the cabinet has 2 bent doors en 2 straight doors with most impressive carvings in solid oak of 5 inches deep. Displaying the harvest , grapes and hunting trophies like boars & birds. The bottom also has 4 drawers with gorgeous leaves & acorns carved out of solid oak as handles. And also decorated with various floral leaves & 4 dogs , all with superb attention to detail. The top is supported by 2 massive solid carved Gryphons. The top has 2 very large beveled glass doors & many carved decorations including hunting trophies of a boar & bird. The Top of the cabinet is decorated with a very large Boar head. The cabinet has multiple solid oak shelves that have also been decorated with carvings. This very rare antique piece was Imported by a antique collector in Belgium during the 1960s and remains in amazing condition. You can stare at this cabinet for days and still find new details. A true statement piece & museum quality antique. The attention to detail , size & craftsmanship are simply breathtaking.
